Description

Palak dosa is one of the healthiest breakfast. Instead of a simple plain dosa, we can enrich it with spinach. Serve with your favorite choice of chutney or Sambar.

Ingredients
  • 500 grams Rice ((raw))
  • 15 Nos Spinach Leaves ((Palak))
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt (As per taste)
  • 1/2 cup Oil ((Spread over the pan))
Instructions
  1. How to make Palak Dosa
    • Wash the spinach well. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the water and soak it for 5 minutes. This is because it removes any kind of insects attached to the leaves.
    • Chop the spinach leaves and add them to the mixer grinder. Make a smooth paste by adding just 1 or 2 tablespoons of water if required.
    • Then add the raw rice (soaked for at least 1-2 hours) to the mixer grinder. Add 1/4 cup water (as little as possible)
    • Add the spinach paste to the dosa batter. Then add salt to taste. Check the consistency of the water then add water if needed. Please click this for proper method https://youtu.be/4-swCiVEWHY

    • I took an iron pan. You can take anything like a non stick pan.

    • Heat the Pam. Check the pan heat by sprinkling some water. Once pan is ready if water splatters. Pour a cup of batter and spread it into a thin dosa. Keep the flame low. Add 1/2 tsp of ghee for good taste.

    • Gently take the cooked dosa on a plate using a spatula. Dosa is very thin so no need to flip it.

Note

Here I have prepared this recipe in a simple way. If possible you can saute spinach with 2 pieces of ginger and garlic cloves then make a paste and add to the dosa batter. It is very tasty.
